Audxtreme™ Photography is a division of Audxtreme (Pty) Ltd established in 2019. Its founder Marco Curt Davids decided to bring photography to its bouquet of services. Marco’s history and the link to photography go back more than 30 years when he was first introduced to the art of photography by his own father and has been successfully capturing images ever since.
He qualified as a photographer in 1991 at Lyceum College, Johannesburg. In 2013 he completed a digital photography certification, Credential ID 591-1963010 at Advance Learning Interactive Systems, (IRE). Marco also holds photo-journalism qualifications achieved from Success College, Johannesburg and The Peninsula Technikon now known as the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) between the years of 1991-1994.
During the span of more than 30 years, he was employed as the senior and head photographer at the Martial Arts SA Magazine and Ultra Print which covered all martial tournaments nationally. Marco had two photographic businesses Foto Bonito Photography in 1990 and again under his name Marco Davids Photography from 1995 onwards. Achievements in the photographic field included being published in the South African Shipping Magazine and multiple local community newspapers such as the Tatler and Southern Mail and then Cape Town’s largest provincial newspaper The Argus. He was commissioned at times by the largest alluvial diamond mining company in the world which is based in South Africa to photograph their shipping fleet. Marco also regularly contributed images to the Maritime SA Online Magazine over the years that it was established.
At the time Marco photographed in all genres of photography; wedding, landscape, architectural, maritime, portraiture and candid photography. Today he mostly specializes in Candid or Informal Photography, Maritime Photography and Monochrome Photography. Although he is still very much involved with photography he is slowly handing over the responsibilities of photography to his daughter Emma Davids.
Emma currently holds two certifications in digital photography and is busy with her third from Advance Learning Interactive Systems, (IRE). She has been photographing monochrome, candid and informal projects for just over three years and her portfolio is a testament to her great work. It was Emma’s idea and her keen entrepreneurial mindset to incorporate photography as a service to the business, hence the birth of Audxtreme™ Photography.
